| Call for prayer Violence in Kenya David and his family traveled all night by foot to stay in the house that they are borrowing. They are safe but prices for food and other supplies have doubled and tripled. Police have been sent in to guard the nearby towns of Eldoret and Ilula and travel into town is restricted to getting a police escort pass the roadblocks. Eldoret has been closed after 2pm so many people are trying to get in during the few hours of the day that it is open. David said, "We have not seen this kind of violence since 1963 when our country got its freedom." David traveled back to the Harvest Grove farm yesterday (Jan 6) to check on the farm and it has been undisturbed. The passion fruits are ripening. Travel is dangerous. He will wait about a week before attempting to travel there again if the violence subsides. David, his families and the other members of the community center are all depending on the Lord and need prayer for safety and for survival. There is a small fund that we have received as a response to the last newsletter that we are designating to personal support for David and his family. If you are moved to add to this support, please indicate that it can be used for personal support. Empowering Lives International |
