Hello friends,

In the States
In response to our first newsletter, the Harvest Grove Project received $140 in donations for seeds. Thank you for your donations and prayers. We have made a few more dollars with our jewelry sales. We also opened a new bank account at Washington Mutual that allows us to wire funds to Kenya without any charges. This is wonderful. None of the donations you make will go to transfer fees with Western Union anymore.

In Kenya
At the Harvest Grove site, a well has been dug and they are finishing the digging of a latrine. 35 families have begun to plant on individual plots and now the children are planting a garden of their own.

Unfortunately, KEPHIS (Kenya Plant Health Inspectorate Service) has recently made more stringent rules about importing plant seeds. They have held up the seeds shipped by ECHO (Educational Concerns for Hunger Organization) and we are trying to get them released. We will know in the future of the additional paperwork required when importing into Kenya, but for now, the first twenty packs of seeds will probably not be recovered. David and members of the community have purchased seeds locally with funds sent and with funds provided from the community.

Purity, David Kipkorir's wife, is very pregnant. She is due any day now. We ask for prayers that she and the baby are healthy.

In Between
Catherine Gaulton of Heavenly Treasures ( http://www.heavenlytreasures.org ) was kind enough to transport some items to David for the Harvest Grove Project. She will be leaving on Monday, June 5th to Kenya to do work for Heavenly Treasures and we are grateful for space in her luggage and the time she will take to visit David. Amongst the items is a digital camera, so you can expect some new photos in our next newsletter.

Goals
We have completed the purchase of the first acre and our goal now is to raise funds to pay for the second acre. Jayne Hayes is collecting items from friends to have a yard sale. The sale is next weekend, June 10th. This is your opportunity to unload things you don't have any use for. If you have any items you would like to donate, please call her on her cell phone at 626-643-0331. Jayne can pick up items at your convenience. The sale will be held from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm. at 147 Vista Bonita, Glendora.

It is exciting to see the Harvest Grove Project growing from just an idea to a reality. It is a blessing to watch God answering prayers.
